I can't hardly believe you are 17 today! This is a bittersweet birthday for your Mom!

We are so proud of who you have become.
You have a tender heart, a willingness to help.
Amazing intellect and such a good spirit about you.
With graduation just months away and college after that
the possibility of you being here next year for a birthday are slim.
So many "last times" are happening this year. Each of these "last"
moments make me reflect even more how fast the time is going by.
But we also look forward to all the "firsts" you will start
experiencing over this next year of your life.
Just don't think there are days that I wish you were a little
4 year old lining your cars up in rows and that you would be in our
home for many more years to come.
We love you Mikey and wish a happy birthday for you!

OKay, and now I have started my crying for the day. I just dont want to picture my little man turning 17 and going off to college.

Happy Birthday Mikey!! It's hard to beleive you are 17 I remember when you 10 years old and getting into trouble.
I hope you had a great birthday! Maybe one of these days you will understand how us "Mom's" feel about our kids. We have a hard time letting go of our kids, but are excited about the new things to come. You are a special kid, and I understand your parents pride in you.
Seems like just yesterday, you were scrappin' that little 8 year old little boy! Hard to believe it has been 9 years. Very, very good post. Hang in there Momma, you have a good guy there, and You and Jason deserve so much credit for that!
